 "Types of psychological defense and their corresponding psycho-emotional types of people."

 Every person has the most suitable for him defensive reaction. It arises in various situations automatically. According to Jung, each of us carries its own form of life, that the definition of intractable form, which can not displace the other. This form of life, the true "I", covers the depth of the human mind, penetrating far beyond everyday consciousness. To find yourself, you can only connect the conscious "I" with different levels of the subconscious.

But a person may occasionally lose control over his actions. In this case, his behavior is automatic. This kind of self-defense was formed as a result of a wrong output rendered from the problems with which this person was not able to cope. But the desire not to be in this situation again leads us to oppose everything in life, that somehow can bring to the solution of  such problems.

 In functional terms we can imagine the subconscious as a huge prehistoric warehouse that stores various psychic contents. Maybe it's not even a warehouse, but rather a biological machine - genie-dinosaur reproducing desires and impulses, directed consciousness."Great solutions are usually more to do with instincts and other mysterious unconscious factors than with conscious will and conscious expediency", - concludes Young. Therefore, every one of us often applies its stressful experience, rather than sound reasoning to protect against situations that no longer wants to reach.

 Due to the nature of the stress people can be divided into six emotional psychological types, each of which has its own peculiarities of behavior. These trends are linked with the aspirations of people to current perceptions, in our time, the three false values: power, money and fame. In the softer their terms they are often called: the influence on current events or a worthy position in society, stability in life, as well as recognition (finding self-love in others).

 These values, though related to the mechanisms of individual self-defense, are common to all people in the historical roots of their origins. Therefore, stress reactions, based on the features of the instinctive mind, are also determined and social attitudes, regardless of whether they are true or false, which moves all of humanity.

The deeper we penetrate into the subconscious to the man, the more we discover there is a material common to all individuals. For these deeper roots Jung came up with good definition of "collective unconscious" - knowledge, common to all representatives of our culture, nationality, race. Deeper still is the experience, selectively digested the representatives of Western and Eastern worlds.

 Finally, in the individual subconscious, there are certain structures that are common to all mankind. Jung calls them "archetypes" or "primordial images". These mental structures that people possess by virtue of the fact that they are just human beings. Jung says: "Under the collective subconscious, we understand a certain mental contribution established by a mechanism of heredity." Archetypes are related to the structural basis of reason. They, in turn, has "strung" stressful preferences associated with the peculiarities of individual development of the psyche of each individual.

You can, of course, agree that the main engine of such preferences, as R. Laing asserted, is a human desire to "ontological protection. That fear drives us to find a way out of difficult situations. Certainly, the development of thinking, as well as other creative talents of a man, would have been impossible without this, a very unpleasant feeling.

But it is also worth to remember that all the "frightening" alienates us from ourselves. We are not able to feel an object, seemingly dangerous. Therefore, for a person other than the fear of life and other people, the desire to protect himself, there is another characteristic of the desire - to "give up", "understand", "know" and "feel". These, contrary to the previous wishes, are decided to attribute to another, so-called "spiritual" orientation of our psyche that underlies empathy.

 However, with age, having received from the life the masses of "cuffs", most of us are less ready to penetrate their consciousness in the souls of other people and strange, sometimes dangerous phenomena of life. We are satisfied with limited knowledge to survive in difficult circumstances and find their place in society. Therefore, ontological security is gradually becoming the main driver of our actions. This explains the lack of implementation of many talented people who prefer the false values of self-defense, instead of high aspirations for self-denial for the sake of others.

Manifestations of emotional self-protection of people associated with risk of "not to find themselves in society”, be completely vulnerable to life, are different. Some people prefer to pursue their goals actively, others are waiting to resemble the moment and not spend wasting their energy. Here we are dealing with a passive or active form of an unconscious desire of man as something to protect himself from potential problems.

 As it has already been mentioned, according to ecral analysis, a special classification of emotional preferences dictated by stress defense mechanisms has been created. It includes six different emotionally conditioned attitudes to how you can safely efficiently to survive in difficult living conditions. Although people have different mental attitude, together they complement each other and coexist in harmony, unless of course these people find a common language between them. In this regard, it is important "not to awaken the beast in man", encroaching on his territory. "

 Thus the individual, striving for fame is easier to sacrifice their influence on the course of events and power over people. He can even abandon the stability and life of luxury. But it is very difficult to force him not to seek recognition in the eyes of others.

Aggressive people want only power. The other "values" for them are only tools to achieve this goal. To feel safe, they should not miss the opportunity to continuously monitor and influence what is happening. However, such people may sacrifice other false values, considering them less important for themselves. They can, for example, be in the "shadow" for a long time  and secretly control the situation. They are not very interested in recognition and fame. Knowing well that money is unreliable shelter from many problems, these psychological types, and can give them, if required by the retention of power.

Conversely, alert people want neither fame nor power. They are only interested in stability in the future. They want peace, they may provide material values. Some of them do not require much. Give this man a secure base in life, and he will not require other false values. He wants stable income and a cozy shelter. For another person fear of the future forces to be active. It takes a lot to protect such a person. Outwardly, this person may seem daring and risky, but it is only a mask that hides his fear of life. However, when dealing with people, striving for fame or power, the type of alert they may faithfully serve, helping them to implement their plans. Of course, in case his interests are not prejudiced.

 Therefore, even without considering the possibility of establishing a spiritual relationship, not requiring people to protect themselves from each other, they can still agree with each other. Thus each "gets his" and doesn’t want the goals of another.

 To find the correct approach to the man, not to frighten him, you need to know what type of emotional response should be attributed. We offer the following classification of these types worked out on the basis of ecral analysis:

 1.      The aggressive types who think the best way to protect is the attack, craving power over people and influence in society:

 

"Champion of justice"

 

This man is devoted to "flag". He is driven by a strong desire for power. He seeks to attract others to his side. If something is not built up as he would like, then later he "shifts" all his mistakes on the inability of others to be faithful and consistent in their actions. He does not love his own responsibility for his mismanagement of others.

 "Champion of justice" is minister of ideas, which he choses for himself. People who follow him are proof of the correctness of his chosen life stance. It’s difficult for him to find a compromise between his worldview and the point of view of others. The social problem of this type of emotional response is to form the ability to be loyal to the ideals selected. Speaking with "Champion of justice " you need to agree with him, emphasizing your loyalty to this man.

 

"Patron"

This man loves to provide protection to others. He is driven by a passive desire for power. He does not seek to action. More often he doesn’t follow  a beaten path, because he is not sure that he survives in the competition.

"Patron" gets older to create his own "little world", living by special rules. He constantly suppresses his fear. So he does not like to go into details of what is happening. Though such a man strives to lead people, but he manages it with great difficulty and only in the most general level. He likes other people spoke positively about the viability of his creation idyll. He needs a favor from the surrounding minor.

 "Patron" appreciates fulfilled promises. When a man feels in debt before someone he is ready to cooperate, even with the damage for himself. The social problem of this type of emotional response is to instill in others hope for a better future. Talking to the "patron" you need to express gratitude for his instruction.

 

2. Hopefully types aspiring to fame and recognition in society:

 

"Athlete"

 This man always strive to be the first. He wants active desire for fame and recognition by others. He tries to win in any situation. His whole life is a struggle for the awards.

"Athlete" – is an individualist. He suppresses his fear. He often perceives others  as potential competitors. The social problem of this type of emotional reaction is to inspire the others with activity and the desire to perform their duties better. "Sportsman" should be admired and to shown willingness to help him achieve the goal.

 

"Doubting"

 "Doubting" competes with no-one. He wants to rouse interest to get other people’s support. A passive expectation of recognition by others is usual for him.

 "Doubting" is never sure until the end of the  result that does. He needs guarantees in everything. If he feels the endorsement, he can work bard. "Doubting" is fond of complements. If he is praised, he will become your friend. But if this man is condemned, he loses interest in activities carried out, sees no future prospects. Such people for nothing can easily ruin that was built over years,  go very far and start again on the "flat spot". The social problem of this type of emotional reaction is to infect others with optimism.

 

3. Cautious types who seek stability and prosperity:

 

"Suspicious"

 This person applies to all people with caution. He doesn’t believe anyone. He has a strong desire to protect himself from danger.  He is "Incredulous" to challenge any proposal that has a firm conviction, because he believes that in this world there is nothing in what you can be assured, of course. "Suspicious" is always afraid of trick. He likes to warn. The social role of this type of emotional response is to protect others from excessive self-confidence. We must show this person that you are less competent than he. In gratitude, he will cooperate with you.

 

"Conservative"

 This man can not lose. He is typical of passive expectation of danger, in the hope that everything would be well itself. "Conservative" prefers not to interfere in the affairs of others. He adheres well-tested path in life. Such a man is afraid of undue risk. Before you deal with him, better to reassure him and tell him there is no danger.

 "Conservative" values small gifts. The main thing is not to pressure him. Social problem of this type of emotional response is to be the keeper of traditions and to show others how to preserve and increase what has already been achieved.

 As it is evident from this classification, the subconscious human strife has its strengths and weaknesses. And each type is unique. But man, no matter what type of emotional response he applies to is driven not only by the desire to protect himself. We are also governed by spiritual aspirations.

If you recall the most recognized in the world religious teachings, we note that they have a common setting: in every man there is something "spiritual" and "bestial". The first component of the psyche is associated with empathy for people and phenomena of the external world. It leads man towards knowledge, empathy and self-sacrifice. The second part of his "I" opposes  this. It seeks to protect the "body" of the danger and possible attacks on it from outside.

Here we see the explanation why the mythology of different peoples, races and historic periods has much in common. From this point of view, according to Jung, it is undeniable that the fundamental experience, expressed in a children's myth-making, is something more harmonious than the experience gained, which is given to an individual at the expense of his education.

 Great poetry, art, philosophy and religion have their origins in the collective subconscious of people. Classic work of literature or art - is an expression of mental images, common to all individual members of mankind. In this regard, the notion of "conscience" should be interpreted much more than something we are taught about the parents than the integrity of the society. It originates in the deep and mysterious roots of our existence. If we accept this thesis as a basis for further arguments, the collective unconscious of the individual goes back to build up the structure of the universe, i.e. infinity. "Calling on the battle Infinity, a man thrusts his sword into the very depths of his own soul."

 Therefore, inner self-defense of a mentally full  human should not be confined to his own aspirations. Each of us should know his in "beast", but not to destroy it (a man, needs it to develop his mental processes, particularly processes of abstraction) and to be able to govern himself, not to spend himself in vain, and not to give vent to passions for the triumph of reason.
